Scope and responsibility

EngravePrep covers the image side of a laser-photo workflow: source selection, crop, tone, polarity, dithering, pixel dimensions, physical size, DPI, export, and preservation of a finished bitmap.

It does not prescribe or certify focus, speed, power, line interval, airflow, ventilation, material compatibility, supervision, or fire safety. Operators should use current machine- and material-manufacturer guidance and conduct appropriate tests.

• Prefer current first-party documentation from software, machine, and material providers for claims about their products or workflows.
• Use secondary sources only when they add necessary context and can be identified clearly.
• Link claims to the relevant source and list the source publisher and the date it was checked.
• Do not turn a product-specific recommendation into a universal rule for every laser, material, or process.

Review dates and updates

Each guide displays a reviewed date. That date means the cited links and the page's substantive guidance were checked on or by that date; it is not a claim that every possible machine or material combination was tested.

A guide is reviewed when source documentation changes, a correction affects its conclusions, or the workflow has changed enough to make an earlier explanation incomplete.

Physical evidence and image labels

Claims about a physical engraving must come from an actual, documented physical run. When EngravePrep publishes such evidence, the page should identify it as a physical test and record the relevant material, machine or module, focus method, interval, speed, power, source file, and test date when those details are available and safe to share.

App screenshots, prepared bitmaps, diagrams, mockups, and generated illustrations must be described for what they are. They are not burn evidence. EngravePrep prohibits presenting a simulation or generated image as a physical engraving result. A proposed test protocol is labeled as a method until real results exist.

Authorship and commercial context

Guides use the organizational byline EngravePrep Editorial Team. Willow Glen Equity LLC publishes both the commercial app and the learning content. Product links and descriptions may therefore support EngravePrep, but technical guidance should preserve the boundary between what the app prepares and what the operator controls.
